Weekly Patient Newsletter - Thursday, June 23 Posted or Updated on 2 Feb 2023

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Open Day

We hope to see you all at our Open Day at Croston Medical Centre this Saturday, June 25.

The event will run from 10am to 2pm and during that time everyone is welcome to come down to the CMC site on Brookfield in the village, postcode PR26 9HY.

You don’t have to be a CMC patient and patients from our other surgeries are also welcome.

Take a look round our medical centre and facilities at your leisure and chat to our friendly team of clinicians who can offer advice on subjects such as HRT, Asthma/COPD, breast screening along with any general concerns you may have.

You can also if you wish have a free blood pressure check, a free BMI check, and ask us about any general medical issues.

There’s also a chance to take on our quiz king Tony and win a prize if you beat the master!!

Free parking is available and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Holiday Vaccinations

There has as expected been increasingly high demand for travel vaccination appointments as the peak holiday season approaches.

We would like to remind patients requiring travel vaccination appointments that they need to complete the appropriate form on our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk.

You can find it by clicking the section marked ‘Travel Vaccination Form’ on the left of the site’s home page. Once completed, please click the ‘submit’ button and the form will come through to our staff at your chosen surgery.

Alternatively, you can pick up a copy from any of our surgeries and drop off at reception.

When received, one of our nurses will check the form and get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.

Please note the form must be received at least six weeks before the date of travel.

Ukraine Appeal

We are still accepting accepting toiletries, ladies' sanitary products, baby items, non-perishable foods, tins of dog and cat food and also items of clothing and shoes as long as they are clean and in good condition.

The Chorley & District Support for Ukraine group have said the items are as desperately needed as ever so if you can help, please do so.

Please drop items off at any time during opening hours. Our staff will assist you if needed.

Staff Changes

We are delighted to advise that we have recruited two new additions to our reception and administration team in the shape of Georgia and Rebecca, who will shortly join our staff based at Croston Medical Centre.

We are also pleased to advise that Alice, who has been a very popular and well respected member of staff at out Croston surgery for the past two years, has been accepted onto a training course for nursing.

While we will be sad to see Alice leave, we wish her every success on the next stage of her career in the NHS.
