WEEKLY NEWSLETTER - October 21 Posted or Updated on 15 Feb 2022

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

We have had many inquiries about our Covid vaccination programme and our annual flu jab programme over the last few days so we have dedicated this week’s newsletter entirely to this matter. A full update on other issues will follow next week.

First and second Covid jabs

We are still offering first and second Covid jabs to anyone aged 16 or over at our vaccination hub at Jubilee House, Centurion Way, Leyland PR26 6TR.

The clinics are open from 8am to 8pm from Wednesday to Saturday, closed for lunch 1-2pm.

You can make appointments via the NHS app or call as a walk-in, though please note last walk-in 7pm. Parking is free and there are plenty of spaces.

Please note second jabs must take place at least eight weeks after the first jab.

Booster Covid jabs

These are also being offered at Jubilee House to those aged 50 plus, front line health care workers and those aged 16-49 with those underlying health conditions agreed by NHS England and JCVI along with adult household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals.

The booster jab is also being offered to those whose second jab was at least six months ago.

Please check your second jab date before coming to the vaccination hub as there MUST be at least a six month gap between your second jab and booster in all cases.

Annual Flu Vaccinations

Due to supply and delivery issues which we are currently experiencing, we are only offering annual flu jabs to our own registered patients and as stocks are limited, those who are being offered this jab will be contacted by text with instructions on how to book an appointment.

Please note we are not accepting walk-ins for annual flu jabs at present but will advise via this website and our social media channels if this changes.

Housebound Patients

If you are housebound and are eligible for any of the above jabs, please contact any of our surgeries with your details and our team will make the appropriate arrangements.

Covid Jab for 12 to 15-year-olds

Our single jab programme for the above age group is being rolled out via high schools and not via our own vaccination hub so please contact your child’s school with all inquiries.

Nasal Spray Flu Vaccine for Primary School Children

We are aware some pharmacies and surgeries have been administering this but we are also aware supplies are limited and many surgeries and pharmacies are not taking appointments.

We have requested an urgent update from NHS England on this matter and we will advise via our website and social media channels as soon as any further information is received.
