Weekly Patient Newsletter - Thursday, August 11 Posted or Updated on 2 Feb 2023

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Face Coverings

For the time being, we are continuing to request patients and visitors to all our surgery sites continue to wear face coverings as Covid infection rates remain high both locally and nationally.

We are aware that in the extremely hot weather, this can cause some discomfort but we would request that if possible you continue to wear face coverings.

We are sure you will appreciate that this measure has been taken to protect everyone using our surgeries including many patients who are clinically vulnerable, and we thank you for your continued cooperation on this issue.

Appeal for Items

We have transported all the recent items you have donated to The Chorley & District Support for Ukraine Group’s depot and they are now on their way to eastern Europe.

We have also dropped off all your donations of clothes, coats and shoes to Chorley Help the Homeless Centre who we are also supporting on medical care.

Please note both groups are still desperately in need of donated items so if you can help further, please drop off any contributions at any of our surgery sites during opening hours.

For info, we are accepting toiletries, ladies' sanitary products, baby items, non-perishable foods, tins of dog and cat food and also clean clothing if in good condition for the Chorley & District Support for Ukraine Group, while we are accepting clothing, shoes and clean socks for the Chorley Help the Homeless group.

As there is some overlap in these requests, please could you if possible mark bags of items as to which group you wish them to go to or alternatively advise our staff accordingly?

Holiday Vaccinations

We are still receiving many requests for travel vaccinations as the holiday season continues so a reminder that patients requiring travel vaccination appointments must complete the appropriate form on our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk. You can find it on the left of the site’s home page.

Once completed, please click the ‘submit’ button and the form will come through to your chosen surgery. Our nurses will check the form and get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.

Please note the form must be received at least six weeks before the date of travel.

Blood Clinics

Our blood clinics have been well received by our patients and continue to be very well used.

The clinics operate every Tuesday morning at Croston Medical Centre, The Village Surgery at Lostock Hall and at Adlington Medical Centre and every Thursday & Friday morning

at Buckshaw Village Surgery. The Adlington clinic also caters for former Eaves Lane Surgery patients until the new surgery opens,

However, please note these are not walk-in clinics and all appointments should be made in advance, and you must also make your appointment at the surgery where you are registered as a patient.
