Weekly Patient Newsletter - Thursday, May 12 Posted or Updated on 2 Feb 2023

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Holiday Vaccinations

As the holiday season approaches, we expect to see more patients requesting travel vaccinations and we are now making appointments available for this.

Patients requiring such vaccinations are asked to download a request form from our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk.

You can find it by clicking the marked section on the left of the site’s home page. Once completed, click the ‘submit’ button and the form will come through to your chosen site.

Alternatively, you can pick up a hard copy from any of our surgeries and drop off at our reception.

Once received, one of our nurses will then check it and get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.

Please note the form must be handed in at least eight weeks before the date of travel.

Ukraine Appeal

We are pleased to advise that we have delivered all the items you dropped off at our surgery sites to the Chorley & District Support for Ukraine group’s main collection depot.

And we have been advised that all the supplies have either now been delivered successfully or are on their way to Eastern Europe.

However, Stuart Clewlow who runs the group and has worked so hard on this project has advised that items for the appeal are more desperately needed than ever as more refugees have arrived at the centres in Ukraine following renewed Russian attacks.

We would therefore ask that if you have any toiletries, ladies' sanitary products, baby items, non-perishable foods, tins of dog and cat food and also items of clothing as long as they are clean and in good condition, please drop them off at one of our surgeries at any time during opening hours.

Our staff will be on hand to assist you if needed.

Shingles and Pneumonia Vaccinations

We are now offering shingles vaccinations to any patients aged between 70 and 79.

We are also offering pneumonia vaccinations to patients aged 65 and over.

If you are in an eligible age group and would like either of the above vaccinations, please call your own surgery and our reception staff will be pleased to make an appointment for you.

If you have any queries or concerns, please call us and we will do our best to help and advise you.

Staff Vacancy

We are currently accepting applications for a receptionist/comms team member to be based at Buckshaw Village Surgery.
