Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
A Happy 2025 to Everyone
A very Happy New Year to all our patients,
Our surgeries are open with normal hours and a full service from today, Thursday, January 2 onwards and we look forward to providing as high a quality service as possible in 2025.
Winter Weather and Access Issues
The holiday period may have passed and it is back to work time for many of us but winter is far from over and there are expected to be several more weeks when severe weather conditions are likely.
We would advise all patients to keep warm and safe at this time and to allow extra time to make it to appointments on days when snow and ice affect driving conditions.
As always, we take every step to ensure all surfaces are safe around our surgery sites but would urge patients to take care at all times.
Please also note the access problems caused by a burst water main which affected
our Eaves Lane Chorley surgery earlier in the week have now been resolved.
However, there is still some ongoing repair work continuing which may affect patients and cause slight delays so please bear this in mind if you have an appointment at this site in the next few days.
Annual Flu Jab and RSV Vaccination Clinics
Our annual flu jab programme has now closed along with the national programme so you are no longer able to book via the national online system.
Some local pharmacies are still offering the vaccine if you require it but you will need to call in to your pharmacy to arrange this.
However, our RSV vaccination programme is continuing and is available to those aged 75-80 and those 28 weeks pregnant or over.
Further vaccination clinics will be confirmed shortly.
Please contact your surgery if you require any further information.
Homeless and Ukraine Appeals
Winter is harsh in Eastern Europe and The Chorley Support for Ukraine group have made a renewed New Year appeal for donations of toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, pet food, non-perishable food items, shoes, clean duvets, blankets and towels.
The Chorley Homeless Group are also appealing for similar items, and in addition are looking for coats and sleeping bags to help service users in this harsh winter weather.
As usual, you can drop off donations for both appeals at any of our surgery sites during opening hours, and please mark your bags accordingly if you have a preference as to which appeal you wish them to go to.
