Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
IMPORTANT - Major Changes to the Appointments System
Next Wednesday, October 1 sees the introduction of the new triage process for booking appointments at your GP practice.
Our staff are currently completing training in readiness for the change and we hope it will prove beneficial.
In order to be ready for the changes, we would advise all patients to download the NHS App — it's the easiest way to manage appointments, prescriptions and more.
If you have internet access, you can do so via this link www.nhs.uk/nhs-app.
If you have any worries, please call at the surgery and our reception staff will offer advice on how it will work for you.
Please note this change has been introduced by the NHS and the Government, not by our GP practice.
Stoptober
We are backing the NHS’s annual Stoptober quit smoking campaign.
The positives of quitting smoking begin almost immediately and include improved breathing, taste, and smell, and there are many long term health benefits.
Research shows if you can go 28 days smoke-free you’re five times more likely to quit for good, so Stoptober encourages smokers to quit for the whole of October.
If you have internet access, search ‘NHS quit smoking’ to access the online resources.
Local support is available and sessions offering support are running from noon to 2pm every Wednesday up to October 29 at Duke Street Family Hub, Chorley PR7 3DU.
Homeless and Ukraine Appeals
We are continuing to accept donations to The Chorley Support for Ukraine Group and The Chorley Homeless Group.
If you have any items such as sanitary products, toiletries, shoes, clean duvets, towels and non-perishable food items, you can drop them off at any of our surgery sites during opening hours. Please mark your bags accordingly if you’ve a preference as to which appeal you wish them to go to.
New Patients Currently Being Accepted
We have had a number of recent inquiries from people wishing to register with us and we can confirm that we are accepting new patients at all surgeries across the group.
Please call in at the nearest convenient surgery and we will be happy to register you and your family.
If it’s more convenient, you can also complete a registration form via our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk. Search ‘new patient form’ and just fill in and submit online and we will get back to you.
