Patient Newsletter July 26 Posted or Updated on 26 Jul 2024

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our surgery sites are kept fully informed of developments at NM Health Innovations. We hope these regular updates continue to prove useful.

Computer Issues Last Week

As you may well be aware, our surgeries at Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane and Lostock Hall were affected by the global IT issues which arose early last Friday, July 19.

This resulted in the system not being operational and affected our ability to operate our appointments system and access patient records, impacting our service in general and causing issues with appointments.

Our systems returned to full operation over the weekend but due to the system downtime, there was a significant backlog to address including processing clinical paperwork, blood results etc, which was addressed as quickly as possible.

We would like to express our gratitude to our staff for their exceptional efforts in dealing with the issue and to our patients for their understanding and for heeding our request to avoid non-urgent phone calls while the backlog was addressed.

Covid Problems

As previously mentioned, Covid infection levels remain very high in the area.

If you are concerned about catching the virus, we would advise you to use a face covering when in public places, particularly if you are immuno-compromised.

There are no national Covid restrictions currently in place, but if you or your child have tested positive, you should if possible stay at home as much as possible and avoid contact with other people for five days after the day the positive test was taken, or three days if you are under 18.

You should also try to avoid meeting clinically vulnerable people for 10 days after the day you took your test.

If you have need more advice, please call the national Covid helpline on 119.

Holiday Vaccinations

The holiday season is underway and if you require vaccinations for your trip abroad,

you can access the form on our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk

Click the tab marked ‘Services’ on the bar at the top of the home page, then choose ‘Clinics and Services’ and click on ‘Travel Vaccination and Travel Advice.’

Please then complete the online form and click the ‘submit’ button. If you have no internet access, please pick up a hard copy from your surgery & drop off at reception.

When the form is received, one of our nurses will get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.

Please book well in advance.

A Day Late!

We apologise but for logistical reasons, this week’s news update is a day late. Back to normal next Thursday, August 1.
