Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
Temporary Surgery Closure – Thank You
We would like to thank all our patients for their patience and understanding when our surgeries and phone lines were closed on Tuesday afternoon for staff training.
This was essential training which was delivered to NHS staff nationwide.
It is as always our first priority to offer our patients the best service possible and we hope this training will improve and enhance our service to you in the future.
Holiday Vaccinations
The nights are getting lighter and while it’s still cold, it’s great to know the holiday season is at last approaching.
With this in mind, we are expecting to receive a large number of requests for travel vaccinations in the coming weeks so if you think you may require these, now’s the time to look at arranging them.
To do so, download a request form from our website, which you can access via this link
After completing it, click the ‘submit’ button and the form will go to your chosen site.
Once received, one of our nurses will then check it and get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.
Alternatively, you can call at any of our surgeries to pick up a hard copy, and you can then drop off the completed form at the reception desk at your own surgery.
Please note it is advisable to submit your form at least eight weeks before the date of travel to allow time for processing and appointments to be made.
If you submit your request at a late stage, we may not be able to arrange your appointment in time and you would need to arrange your vaccinations at a private clinic where you will be charged for the service.
Breast Screening
The current NHS ‘Help Us, Help You’ campaign, which we are supporting, encourages women to attend their breast screening appointment when invited.
Breast cancer screening saves around 1,300 lives each year in the UK.
You'll automatically get your first invitation letter for breast screening between the ages of 50 and 53 so when you receive it, save the date. It could save your life.
Please contact your own surgery if you need any more information.
Homeless and Ukraine Appeals
The Chorley Support for Ukraine Group and Chorley Homeless Group have asked us to pass on their thanks for your latest donations.
We are continuing to accept toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, pet food, non-perishable food items, shoes, clean duvets, blankets, towels, coats and sleeping bags, which you can drop off at any of our surgery sites during opening hours.
Please mark your bags accordingly if you have a preference as to which appeal you wish them to go to.
