Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of developments. We hope these regular updates continue to prove useful.
Covid Issues
As we have previously advised, the rate of Covid infection remains high in the area.
And it’s not just our locality which is suffering these infections, with a top World Health Organisation official confirmed this week that “Covid is still very much with us.”
However, please do not be alarmed as we are continuing with our full service at all our surgery sites and appointments are unaffected.
Our advice remains that while face coverings are not at present compulsory, you should use one in public places if you are especially concerned, and it is recommended you wear a mask if you are immuno-compromised.
If you or your child have tested positive, stay at home as much as possible and avoid contact with other people for five days after the day the test was taken, or three days if you are under 18.
If you have need more advice, please call the national Covid helpline on 119.
Temporary Surgery Closure
An advanced warning to patients that essential training which is being delivered to NHS staff nationwide is taking place on Tuesday, August 20.
Please note on this date all our surgery sites will close at 12.30pm and all phone lines will also be closed from this time.
During this period, please call 111 or if the issue is an emergency please call 999.
Our normal enhanced service will operate from 6.30pm that day and phone lines at all our sites reopen at 8am the following day, Wednesday, August 21, with doors open 8.30am.
We thank you in anticipation of your understanding.
Homeless and Ukraine Appeals
Both The Chorley Homeless Group and The Chorley Support for Ukraine group have confirmed that while they gratefully appreciate all your efforts so far, they are still desperately in need of more donations.
If you have any toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, pet food, non-perishable food items, shoes, clean duvets, blankets, towels, coats or sleeping bags you can spare, please drop them off at any of our surgeries during opening hours.
Our reception staff will collect and ensure your donations are delivered to the depots. Please mark bags accordingly if you’ve a preference for which appeal you wish them to go to.
Business as Usual
You may have seen reports in the national media of GP services being affected and surgery opening times changing due to the recent riots and disorder.
Please be advised that this has NOT affected any of our surgeries or services and normal operation is continuing at all sites.
