Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
Annual Flu Jab and RSV Vaccination Clinics
The good news is that this week, the NHS reported that for the second consecutive week, the number of people hospitalised due to flu in England fell.
However, cases are still at a high level and we are continuing to arrange additional clinics in which we will be offering annual adult flu and also RSV jabs.
Thes next of these clinics will take place tomorrow, Saturday, January 25 from 9am-11am at Buckshaw Village Surgery.
At the time of writing, the clinic was almost full but there’s still just time to call your surgery to book one of the remaining appointments.
Please note these clinics are for our own patients only but they are open to patients registered at any of our surgeries and not just Buckshaw patients.
Any patients may attend for the annual flu jab but only patients aged 75-80 or who are 28 weeks pregnant or over are eligible for the RSV vaccination.
Please also note you cannot have both vaccinations at the same time.
Temporary Surgery Closure
An early notification to patients that essential training which is being delivered to NHS staff nationwide is taking place on Tuesday, February 11 and on this date all our surgery sites will close at 12.30pm and phone lines will also close from this time.
During this period, please call 111 or if the issue is an emergency please call 999.
Our normal enhanced service will operate from 6.30pm that day and phone lines at all our sites reopen at 8am the following day, Wednesday, February 12, with doors open 8.30am as normal.
We thank you in anticipation of your understanding.
Homeless and Ukraine Appeals
We have now delivered all your latest generous donations to The Chorley Support for Ukraine group and The Chorley Homeless Group and they have been gratefully received by both groups.
We are continuing to accept donations for both appeals so if you have any toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, pet food, non-perishable food items, shoes, clean duvets, blankets, towels, coats and sleeping bags, you can them drop off at any of our surgery sites during opening hours.
Please mark your bags accordingly if you have a preference as to which appeal you wish them to go to.
A Day Late!
Apologies but due to logistical reasons, the newsletter has been published a day later than the usual Thursday publication time. Back to normal next week.
