Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
NHS Cervical Screening programme
We would urge any eligible patients to attend a cervical screening appointment when they receive an invitation.
Cervical screening is for women between the ages of 25 and 64 and you'll be invited for screening every five years from when you're 25 to 64 years old.
You may be invited more regularly if you have HPV.
If you are 65 or older, you'll only be invited if a recent test was abnormal.
You'll get an invitation through the NHS App, by text or by letter asking you to make an appointment and tellin gyou how to book.
If you missed your last cervical screening, you do not need to wait for an invitation to book an appointment.
Eligible patients may call any of our surgeries to arrange a screening, which involves a 20 minuite appointment with a practice nurse.

Bad Weather
As we go into December, there’s obviously going to be more cold weather on the way with snow and ice likely to affect pedestrian areas and car parks close to all our surgeries.
As always, we take every steps to ensure all surfaces are safe but would urge patients to take care at all times and to allow extra time for journeys to appointments at our surgeries if conditions are likely to cause delays.
If there are any particular areas of safety concern in bad weather conditions that you feel we need to deal with better, please email tony.dawber@nhs.net and we will address this.
New Patients
We are currently accepting new patients at all our surgeries.
If you wish to register, please call in at the site where you wish to register and complete a registration form or complete the online version on our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk.
We will then get back to you with further details.
All new patients are eligible for a free health check which you can arrange when you are accepted onto our patient list.
