Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
Annual Flu Jab and RSV Vaccination Clinics
In view of the huge numbers of flu cases which are currently being dealt with by the NHS, we have set up a number of additional clinics in which we will be offering annual adult flu and also RSV jabs for our patients.
These will take place next Monday, January 13 and next Tuesday, January 14 at Buckshaw Village Surgery from 9am-11am each day. We will also be holding a clinic on Saturday, January 25 at Buckshaw which will also run from 9am-11am.
These clinics are for our own patients only but they are open to patients registered at any of our surgeries and not just Buckshaw patients.
We would advise you to contact your surgery to book an appointment but please note we will also accept a limited number of walk-ins in the first hour of each of these surgeries.
Any patients may attend for the annual flu jab but only patients aged 75-80 or who are 28 weeks pregnant or over are eligible for the RSV vaccination.
Please also note you cannot have both vaccinations at the same time.
Winter Weather
The winter weather has returned with a vengeance this week and surfaces are treacherous both for drivers and pedestrians.
We are as usual taking every step to ensure all surfaces are as safe as possible around our surgery sites but weather conditions can change quickly and we would urge patients to take care at all times.
Please allow extra time to make it to appointments on days when snow and ice affect driving conditions.
Roadworks
Please note there is still some ongoing repair work close to our Eaves Lane surgery following last week’s burst water main.
This may affect patients attending appointments at this site and cause slight delays so please bear this in mind if you have an appointment at this site in the next few days.
Please also note there are roadworks on at the junction of Southport Road and Leyland Lane at Ulnes Walton which may cause delays for patients visiting Croston Medical Centre.
Homeless and Ukraine Appeals
We are still accepting donations of items for both The Chorley Support for Ukraine group and The Chorley Homeless Group.
If you have any toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, pet food, non-perishable food items, shoes, clean duvets, blankets, towels, coats and sleeping bags, you can them drop off at any of our surgery sites during opening hours.
Please mark your bags accordingly if you have a preference as to which appeal you wish them to go to.
