Patient Newsletter July 4 Posted or Updated on 4 Jul 2024

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of developments at NM Health Innovations. We hope these regular updates continue to prove useful.

Covid Spring Booster Vaccinations

This vaccination programme has now closed.

If you have any inquiries or if you are following up a previous issue on the Spring Vaccination Programme, please call the national Covid helpline on 119.

We are expecting that we will be participating fully in any Autumn booster programme and we will advise when we receive any information from NHS England on the rollout of this programme.

Your Health in Hot Weather

It has hardly felt like summer so far but there is still plenty time for hot weather to arrive.

If and when the sun finally breaks through, please take care and avoid heat exhaustion which can be very dangerous.

For all the advice you need, please visit the NHS’s heat exhaustion advice page which you can do by clicking this link .

Heat exhaustion does not usually need emergency medical help if you can cool down within 30 minutes and if you need advice, call 111.

However, if the affected person is unable to cool down and the issue turns into heatstroke, it needs to be treated as an emergency and you should call 999.

Temporary Surgery Closure – July 16

Essential training which is being delivered to NHS staff nationwide is taking place on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 16.

Please note on this date all our surgery sites will close at 12.30pm on that day and all phone lines will also be closed from this time.

During this period, please call 111 or if the issue is an emergency please call 999.

Our normal enhanced service will operate from 6.30pm that day and phone lines at all our sites reopen at 8am the following day, Wednesday, July 17, with doors open 8.30am.

Homeless and Ukraine Appeals

Thank you for your recent donations which have been gratefully received by The Chorley Homeless Group and The Chorley Support for Ukraine.

Donations are still being accepted and if you have any toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, pet food, non-perishable food items, shoes, clean duvets, blankets, towels, coats or sleeping bags you can spare, please drop them off at any of our surgeries during opening hours and we will ensure they are delivered to the appeal depots.

Please mark your bags if you’ve a preference for which appeal you wish them to go to.
