Weekly Patient Newsletter - Thursday, June 16 Posted or Updated on 2 Feb 2023

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Open Day

We are delighted to advise that we will be holding an Open Day at Croston Medical Centre on Saturday, June 25.

The event will run from 10am to 2pm and during that time everyone is welcome to come down to the CMC site on Brookfield in the village, postcode PR26 9HY.

On the day, you can have a look round our medical centre and facilities and chat to our friendly team of clinicians who can offer advice on subjects such as HRT, Asthma/COPD, breast screening along with any general concerns you may have.

You can also if you wish have a free blood pressure check, a free BMI check, and ask us about any general medical issues.

Refreshments will be available, and there will also be other attractions for all the family including a chance to take on our quiz king Tony and win a prize if you beat the master!!

Free parking is available and everyone is welcome so we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day.

Face Coverings at Our Sites

We have had a number of inquiries about face coverings at our surgery sites, and we would advise that after careful consideration and in line with national NHS guidance, we will continue to request that face coverings be worn by all staff, patients and visitors at all our surgery sites until further notice.

Though the Covid pandemic has slipped from the headlines in recent weeks, infection rates remain high both nationally and in the local area. In addition, there have been reports of increased incidences of monkeypox being confirmed in some areas of the country.

With this in mind, we hope you appreciate our reasoning and that this measure is intended to assist in the protection and safety of our patients, many of whom are medically vulnerable.

Holiday Vaccinations

The holiday season is now in full swing and we would like to remind patients requiring travel vaccination appointments that they need to complete the appropriate form on our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk.

You can find it by clicking the section marked ‘Travel Vaccination Form’ on the left of the site’s home page. Once completed, please click the ‘submit’ button and the form will come through to our staff at your chosen surgery.

Alternatively, you can pick up a copy from any of our surgeries and drop off at reception.

When received, one of our nurses will check the form and get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.

Please note the form must be received at least six weeks before the date of travel.

Pictures at Croston Medical Centre

The lovely children of Eccleston St Mary’s CE Primary School have painted pictures about the NHS and its work, and we are delighted to advise that we will shortly be displaying a selection of them on the walls of the reception area at Croston Medical Centre.

Well done to all the youngsters. We have been very impressed with your efforts.
