Weekly Patient Newsletter - Thursday, July 14 Posted or Updated on 2 Feb 2023

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Ukraine Appeal

We are very proud this week to have received a Certificate of Appreciation from The Chorley & District Support for Ukraine Group.

Since the early days of the conflict when this fantastic group was formed by Cllr Stuart Clewlow, we have played a small part in supporting their magnificent efforts by offering our surgeries as collection points for donated items and transporting the items to the group’s local depot.

You have been wonderful in supporting the appeal by bringing vast quantities of items to our surgeries, and we would like to thank everyone who has done so.

Chorley & District Support for Ukraine Group have confirmed that all the items you donated were successfully transported to Ukraine, firstly direct to the refugee camps and more recently to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv from where they are being distributed around the country to the areas in need.

Please note we are still accepting toiletries, ladies' sanitary products, baby items, non-perishable foods, tins of dog and cat food and also clean clothing if in good condition.

They can be dropped off at any surgery site during opening hours and our staff will be on hand to assist you if needed.

Face Coverings

Please be aware that we are continuing require face coverings to be worn by all patients, staff and visitors at all our sites until further notice.

You may be aware of the new variants of Covid which have seen high infections rates across our area and indeed across the country, and unfortunately these rates are continuing to rise.

We are therefore maintaining our policy of requiring face coverings to be worn at all our sites.

We are sure you will appreciate that this measure has been taken to protect everyone using our surgeries including many patients who are clinically vulnerable, and we thank you for your continued cooperation on this issue.

Holiday Vaccinations

A reminder that patients requiring travel vaccination appointments must complete the appropriate form on our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk.

You can find it on the left of the site’s home page. Once completed, please click the ‘submit’ button and the form will come through to our staff at your chosen surgery.

Our nurses will check the form and get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.

Please note the form must be received at least six weeks before the date of travel.

Appeal for Shoes, Coats and Socks

We are continuing to collect second hand shoes, coats and socks, which must be clean and in good condition, for Chorley Help the Homeless Centre who we are supporting on medical care.

Please leave at any of our surgery sites during opening hours.
