Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of developments at Adlington and Croston Medical Centres, Buckshaw Surgery, our Eaves Lane, Chorley site and our surgery sites at Lostock Hall. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.
Cashless payments
Please note that as from this Monday, October 2, we will be moving to a cashless system for payments by patients at all our surgeries.
All payments for items such as GP letters, work related letters and all other charged services must be made by card only and cash payments will no longer be accepted.
We are equipping all our surgeries with card machines this week with the exception of our Medicare Unit Surgery at Lostock Hall and the new system should make all payments quick and easy for our patients.
Medicare Unit patients will be able to make their payments at The Village Surgery which is just across the road at the opposite end of the Hope Terrace car park.
Please contact our reception staff if you have any queries on the new system and they will be happy to assist.
Covid Booster Injections
Our Autumn Covid Booster vaccination programme is now fully under way and we are very pleased with the take up so far.
Our designated walk-in vaccination site is located on Wigan Road, Euxton PR7 6JW, next door to Rowlands Pharmacy and opposite the Bay Horse pub, and opening hours are from 9am to 5pm from Wednesday to Friday every week. Closed for lunch 1pm-2pm.
We are also holding walk-in clinics every Saturday at Buckshaw Surgery when opening times are 9am-Noon and 2pm-5pm.
Anyone aged 18 and over may attend any of the above clinics as a walk-in and you do not have to be a patient at one of our surgeries.
Our own patients in priority categories, such as those aged 65 and over or with certain health conditions have been sent text messages inviting them to book a specified time for their jab.
Pre-bookings must be made online via the link to the National Booking System. Please call 119 if you have any queries.
Ukraine Appeal: Christmas Shoeboxes
As you may know, we have been backing The Chorley Support for Ukraine Group for some time, and they have now launched their second ‘Christmas Shoebox’ appeal.
Parcels can be made up for a Baby, Child, Teenager, Man, Woman or Soldier and can be dropped off at any of our surgeries. We will then deliver them to the Ukraine Unit in Chorley for transportation to Eastern Europe.
We are also continuing to accept donation of the usual items for both Ukraine and the Chorley Homeless Group.
We Are Hiring!
We are strengthening our team and we are seeking applications for a number of vacancies.
We have a vacancy for a practice nurse with a closing date of October 1, and vacancies for a care co-ordinator and a quality and compliance officer with an October 3 closing date and a vacancy for an office co-ordinator with an October 10 closing date.
