Weekly Patient Newsletter - Thursday, May 5 Posted or Updated on 2 Feb 2023

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Ukraine Appeal

Please be advised that this appeal is still very much on.

Stuart Clewlow who runs the Chorley & District Support for Ukraine group has advised that items for the appeal are desperately needed and indeed more so than ever as more refugees have arrived at the centres in Ukraine following renewed Russian attacks.

We would therefore ask that if you have any toiletries, ladies' sanitary products, baby items, non-perishable foods, tins of dog and cat food and also items of clean clothing, please drop them off at one of our surgeries.

Our staff will be on hand to assist you if needed and items can be dropped off at any time during opening hours.

Thank you for your amazing generosity so far but as we have mentioned, items are still desperately needed so please help the appeal if you can.

Bank Holiday Opening Times

Please note that all our surgery sites will be closed from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5 inclusive due the Bank Holidays marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

During this time, please call 999 in the event of an emergency or 111 in the case of non-emergency calls.

Our sites reopen at 8am on Monday, June 6 with normal opening hours from this day onwards.

Covid Vaccinations

We are continuing to accept 5 to 11-year-olds for their first Covid jab, anyone 12+ for their first or second jabs and anyone aged 16+ for their first, second or third jab.

There must be a 12 week gap between doses, vulnerable groups 8 weeks.

In respect of fourth (second booster) jabs, we are accepting over 75s and also immunosuppressed patients with a letter from their Clinician confirming their eligibility.

For both categories, it must be at least three months since your third Covid jab.

Also please note anyone aged 18+ who has had Covid must wait 28 days since initial diagnosis before having any jab, and those under 18 must wait 12 weeks from diagnosis.

All jabs are given at our vaccination hub Jubilee House, Centurion Way, Leyland PR26 6TR.

Opening hours are 8am-7.40pm Wed to Sat, closed for lunch 1-2pm.

Parking is free and there are plenty of space.
