Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
COPD
This week, health organisations across the planet marked World COPD Day.
COPD stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and affects around 1.2 million people in the UK but early and accurate diagnosis means people can:
• Get treatment sooner
• Understand and manage their condition better
• Stay well for longer and avoid hospital admissions.
Click here for more information or check out our clinical lead Dr Muttucumaru’s column in the forthcoming December edition of the Friends of Buckshaw magazine.

Homeless and Ukraine Appeals
As we endure the first proper cold spell of the winter, the Chorley Support for Ukraine Group and The Chorley Homeless Group have renewed their appeal for items, in particular warm winter clothing.
If you have any decent, clean coats and outer garments, please drop them off at any of our surgeries during opening hours and we will transport them to the charity depots.
We are also accepting sanitary products, toiletries, shoes, clean duvets, towels and non-perishable food items.
Please mark your bags accordingly if you have a preference as to which appeal you wish them to go to.
A Day Late!
Apologies but due to logistical reasons, the newsletter has been published a day later than the usual Thursday publication time.
Back to normal next week.
