Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
Prescription Ordering and Pharmacy/Surgery Opening over Easter
The long Easter holiday weekend is approaching and is closely followed by two more Bank Holiday weekends, and patients should note these holidays will affect prescription ordering times along with pharmacy and surgey opening times.
Please keep an eye on this news update and also our social media channels as we will shortly be providing a list of local pharmacies open over the Easter and Bank Holiday weekends along with our own surgery opening times.
We will also be advising prescription dates so patients can ensure they order their medication in time and have sufficient supplies over these weekends.
Holiday Vaccinations
If you’re booking a trip abroad which may require vaccinations, please note you must submit your application form at least eight weeks before you travel to allow time for processing and appointments.
To avoid these issues which might result in having to use a private clinic where you’ll be charged, download a request form at https://www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk/.
Click the ‘Online Services’ tab then the ‘Who to See’ link under the ‘Book Appointments’ section then scroll down to ‘Travel Vaccinations.’
Complete the form and click ‘submit’ to send the form to your chosen site where our nurses will check and make an appointment for you if vaccinations are needed.
If you don’t have internet access, call at your own surgery to complete a hard copy.
Ukraine Appeal Donations
Thank you for your further donations to The Chorley Support for Ukraine group who are continuing to accept warm clothing, toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, pet food, non-perishable food items, shoes, clean duvets, blankets and towels.
If you have any items you wish to donate, just drop them off with our reception staff at any of our surgery sites during opening hours and we’ll deliver them to the depot.
World Kidney Day
Today, March 12 is World Kidney Day.
Incredibly, an estimated 7.2 million people in the UK suffer from Chronic kidney disease (CKD), a long-term condition where the kidneys do not work as well as they should.
And as it’s often symptomless until it develops further, it’s believed millions more are undiagnosed.
For more information on symptoms and causes, click below and make a GP appointment if you have any concerns.
