Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
Loneliness Awareness Week
Next week is Loneliness Awareness Week which we are supporting via all our surgeries and the NHS as a whole.
This year's theme, ‘Meeting Loneliness Together,’ emphasises reducing the stigma around this natural human emotion and encourages collective efforts to foster connections.
If loneliness is very severe or lasts a long time, it might increase the risk of some physical conditions such as dementia and mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety, low mood or depression.
You may also feel lonely since leaving home.
This feeling is normal and there are things you can do to help.
You can check out various resources on any aspect of loneliness by clicking the following link.

In addition, you can search social media using these hashtags #EveryMindMatters #LonelinessAwarenessWeek.
You are also welcome to call in at any of our surgeries for advice and leaflets etc
Building Work at Buckshaw Village Surgery Continuing
The building work at Buckshaw Village Surgery is continuing and is expected to go on for some time, and the scaffolding affecting part of the car park is still in place.
The disabled car park spaces are temporarily relocated to the opposite side of the car park and there are also fewer than normal spaces available.
Patients should allow extra travel time for appointments in case they need more time to find a parking spot.
We apologise for any inconvenience and will advise as soon as the work is completed.
Temporary Surgery Closure
Please be advised that essential training which is being delivered to NHS staff nationwide is taking place this Tuesday, June 10.
On this date all our surgery sites will close at 12.30pm on the day and all phone lines will also be closed from this time.
There are no pre-booked appointments on this afternoon.
All surgeries will reopen as normal the following day, Wednesday, June 11, phone lines open 8am, doors open 8.30pm.
A Day Late!
Apologies but due to logistical reasons, the newsletter has been published a day later than the usual Thursday publication time. Back to normal next week.
