Patient Newsletter May 9 Posted or Updated on 9 May 2024

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at NM Health Innovations are kept informed of developments and news which may be of interest to you. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.

Covid Booster Vaccinations

If you are in an eligible category for the Spring Covid Booster vaccination you will have been contacted by NHS England and there is still time to make an arrangement to receive the vaccine.

Eligible patients for this vaccination are those aged 75 or over or who are residents in a care home for older adults.

If you fall into these categories, book your jab via the National Booking System by calling 119 or by logging onto the online system.

If you have not been contacted, you will not be eligible and please note eligibility criteria is different from the Autumn 2023 jabs.

We are offering the Covid vaccination service at Ryan Medical Centre in Bamber Bridge and all patients who are eligible have now been contacted.

Staff at the centre will be able to answer any further queries when you attend for their jab.

Holiday Vaccinations

The holiday season is almost upon us and if you require vaccinations for your trip abroad or think you may need them, you can access the form on our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk

Just click the tab marked ‘Services’ on the bar at the top of the home page, then choose ‘Clinics and Services’ and scroll to the bottom of the list where you then click on ‘Travel Vaccination and Travel Advice.’

Please then complete the online form and click the ‘submit’ button.

If you have no internet access, please pick up a hard copy from your surgery & drop off at reception.

When the form is received, one of our nurses will get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.

However, please note you must submit a request form at least eight weeks in advance of your departure date to allow us to make the appropriate arrangements.

Our Social Media Channels

We now provide regular NHS health information and helpful tips and advice on our Facebook page NMhealthinnovations and our Twitter/X page at @NmHealth.

Please also see the Friends of Buckshaw magazine if you live in this publication’s delivery area as our clinical lead Dr Muttucumaru writes a popular and informative column on a health issue relevant to local people.

Chorley Homeless Group and Chorley Support for Ukraine Appeals

We are continuing to accept donations for both the above appeals.

If you have any toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, pet food, non-perishable food items, shoes, clean duvets, blankets, towels, coats or sleeping bags you can spare, please drop them off at any of our surgeries during opening hours.

Please mark your bags if you have a preference for which appeal you wish them to go to.
