Mums support Group
We were delighted to have a meeting for supporting Mums with young people with gender dysphoria. We know that at present there is little to no support for families.
We are hoping that we can facilitate a regular meeting - relaxed and over a coffee.
From the meeting 10th August we discussed the experiences that both the children and families have gone through.
One mum kindly shared her experiences and worries. Her son (female at birth) is now a teenager and putting her through all of the challenges of any teenager and a few more!. It has been a long journey and has been fraught with challenges. This mum openly chatted about all of the challenges and the ups and downs that she had faced both personally and with the system.
Leaning on each others experiences gives such support.
We would be delighted to have you there. There is no pressure to share anything, sometimes just listening to other peoples journey can be helpful. We want to understand what we as a practice can do to help you and your family.
